Course outline for Painting with Oils and Acrylics with Peter Miles

Art Classes are offered at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels for children and adults.

The introduction of colour and value scale will help students understand the importance of colour, and how it can create depth within a painting. Students will be given the skills needed to paint a colourful scene from a photograph or an object. Students will also start to colour mix and experiment with primary, secondary, and tertiary colours. We will explore everything from the basics of drawing and composition to painting techniques and styles. Students will also be introduced to shading techniques and where shadow and light fall onto an object. Each Class is 2 hours in duration and are offered in 4 week segments in the comfort of your home in the Ottawa and surrounding areas. A $200 fee is required and is due on the first day of class. (Maximum 4 students per class.)
